Anxiety shows up in many ways, but at its core it’s the body’s threat system stuck in overdrive. It can look like constant worry, racing thoughts, irritability, trouble sleeping, muscle tension, or a feeling that you can’t ever fully relax. For some people it’s situational and tied to specific stressors; for others it’s more chronic and shows up as generalized anxiety, panic attacks, or social anxiety. Over time, anxiety can shrink a person’s world. Avoidance creeps in, confidence drops, and day-to-day life starts revolving around preventing discomfort rather than living fully.

We help people manage anxiety by getting underneath the symptoms, not just trying to quiet them down.

 

Our work focuses on understanding how anxiety developed, what keeps it going, and how it shows up in both thoughts and the body. Through evidence-based approaches, we help clients build skills to regulate their nervous system, challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, and gradually face what they’ve been avoiding in a safe, supported way. Anxiety doesn’t disappear overnight, and that’s not the goal. The goal is helping people feel more grounded, more in control, and better equipped to respond to stress without anxiety running the show.

Depression

Depression often goes beyond feeling sad or having a bad day. It can show up as persistent low mood, loss of interest or motivation, fatigue, changes in sleep or appetite, difficulty concentrating, and a sense of hopelessness or disconnection. For many people, depression quietly reshapes how they see themselves and the world, feeding self-criticism, withdrawal, and a belief that things won’t improve. Over time, it can make even basic tasks feel overwhelming and drain the energy needed to reach out for support.

We help people work through depression by addressing both the emotional weight and the patterns that keep it in place. Treatment focuses on understanding how depression developed, identifying unhelpful thought and behavior cycles, and rebuilding structure, purpose, and connection. Using evidence-based approaches, we help clients reconnect with what matters to them, strengthen coping skills, and develop healthier ways of responding to stress and loss. The work is steady and collaborative, aimed at helping people feel more engaged, more hopeful, and more capable of moving forward—at a pace that feels realistic and sustainable.

Relationships and family systems can be a source of deep connection, but they can also be where stress, conflict, and hurt show up most intensely. Couples may find themselves stuck in the same arguments, struggling with communication, trust, or emotional distance. Families often face challenges related to parenting, life transitions, blended family dynamics, or unresolved patterns that get passed down over time. When these issues go unaddressed, frustration builds, misunderstandings grow, and relationships can start to feel more exhausting than supportive.

We help couples and families slow things down and understand what is really happening beneath the surface. Our work focuses on improving communication, strengthening emotional connection, and identifying the patterns that keep people stuck in conflict or disconnection. Using evidence-based approaches, we help partners and family members learn how to listen differently, express needs more clearly, and respond to one another with greater intention. The goal isn’t perfection or the absence of conflict, but healthier, more respectful relationships where people feel heard, supported, and better equipped to navigate challenges together.

Trauma & PTSD

Trauma and PTSD can develop after a single overwhelming event or through repeated exposure to high-stress, high-risk environments. Symptoms often include intrusive memories, hypervigilance, emotional numbing, irritability, sleep disturbances, and a persistent sense of being on edge or unsafe. Trauma doesn’t just live in thoughts; it lives in the body and nervous system. Many people learn to function around it, but that often comes at the cost of connection, emotional range, and a sense of control over their own reactions.

We help clients work through trauma in a way that is structured, grounded, and respectful of their pace. Our clinicians use evidence-based trauma treatments, including Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), to help the brain and body process experiences that remain stuck and continue to drive symptoms. We have military veterans on staff and specialize in working with veterans and first responders, bringing both clinical expertise and lived understanding of military culture, operational stress, and the realities of service-related trauma. That experience informs our work, but it doesn’t limit it. We support individuals from all backgrounds who are carrying the effects of trauma, helping them regain stability, reduce symptoms, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

Major Life Transitions

Major life transitions can be disruptive even when they are expected or positive. Changes such as career shifts, military separation or retirement, becoming a parent, divorce, loss, relocation, or entering a new phase of life can unsettle routines, identity, and sense of direction. During these periods, people often experience increased stress, anxiety, self-doubt, or a feeling of being unanchored. When familiar roles or structures fall away, it can be difficult to know what comes next or how to move forward with confidence.

We help individuals navigate life transitions by creating space to slow down, reflect, and recalibrate. Our work focuses on helping clients make sense of change, clarify values, and develop practical and emotional strategies for adapting to new circumstances. Using evidence-based approaches, we support people in rebuilding stability, strengthening coping skills, and making intentional choices aligned with who they are and where they want to go. The goal is not just getting through the transition, but helping clients emerge with a clearer sense of purpose, resilience, and direction.

Children & Adolescents

Childhood and adolescence are periods of rapid growth and change, marked by emotional, social, and cognitive development. As children move into adolescence, they begin forming their identity, testing independence, and taking on increasing academic, social, and family responsibilities. During this time, stress, anxiety, mood changes, behavioral challenges, and difficulties with peers or school can emerge. Because so much development is happening at once, struggles can feel overwhelming and hard for young people to put into words.

We have extensive experience working with children and adolescents as they navigate these challenges and the growing demands placed on them. Our approach is developmentally informed and collaborative, helping young people build emotional awareness, coping skills, and confidence while supporting healthy identity development. We work closely with families when appropriate to strengthen communication and consistency across home and school environments. The goal is to help children and adolescents feel understood, supported, and better equipped to manage challenges as they continue to grow and mature.
